Perry Ellis International to review brand portfolio
US-based fashion retailer Perry Ellis International has launched a review of its brand portfolio that will be completed during the first half of fiscal 2013.
The retailer, which has struggled due to lack of brand direction, aims to rationalize brands and businesses to position itself for long-term growth.
Under the review, the apparel retailer will also reduce expenses from non-core infrastructure areas and redeploy part of that capital to marketing and direct-to-consumer infrastructure.
Perry Ellis chief operating officer Oscar Feldenkreis said while the firm saw traffic growth in its direct to consumer business, it also increased promotions to be in line with the environment to remain competitive.
The fashion brand is looking to increase efficiency by consolidating distribution facilities and foreign sourcing offices, and streamlining operational support functions.
Miami-based Perry Ellis offers a diverse portfolio of brands through multiple distribution channels.
