Gap deploys Oracle Retail Cloud Service to improve efficiency

Published 04 October 2017

Global retailer Gap has deployed Oracle Retail Cloud Service to empower the Intermix brand business teams and ensure end-to-end operational efficiencies.

Gap has deployed Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Merchandising Insights Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management running on the Oracle Cloud.

Gap intends to make use of the dynamic, state-of-the-art functionality and technology offered in the Oracle Retail Cloud Service in maintaining a consistent merchandising platform and simplifying operations for Intermix.

Using the Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service with Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service, merchants can synchronize end-to-end merchandising operations. The solution simplifies daily tasks such as purchase order approval and sales auditing with exception-based dashboard notifications and alerts.

Analytics interface and exception-based reporting in Oracle Retail Merchandising Insights Cloud Service make use of the value of the merchandising data and identify actionable opportunities across product, price, promotion and placement.

Intermix offers a range of styles from both established and emerging designers. It has 40 stores in North America.

Gap offers clothing, accessories, and personal care products under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, Intermix and Weddington Way brands.

Gap chief information officer Paul Chapman said: “This investment marks the first step on a journey to adopting cloud technology across our global operations. We chose Oracle Retail Cloud Services to synchronize our global initiatives and deliver state-of-the-art functionality to Intermix.”

Oracle Retail senior vice-president and general manager Ray Carlin said: “We are thrilled to announce the adoption of Oracle Retail Cloud Services by Gap Inc. Gap Inc. is a long standing and valued partner of Oracle Retail.”

“Oracle Retail Cloud services are decreasing implementation times for brands of all sizes and we look forward to seeing what Gap Inc. can accomplish with their new cloud perspective of inventory,” Carlin added.
