Ethan Allen enhances customer service with new interactive touch screens

Published 23 November 2010

Ethan Allen Interiors, a retailer of quality home furnishings and accessories, has introduced new interactive touch screens to participating Ethan Allen Design Centers nationwide. The touch screens have been designed to further enhance the client experience at Ethan Allen retail locations.

In addition to their use as a full-catalog, content-rich resource, the screens provide a fun, accessible, intuitive means to see products and information differently – changing out fabrics and finishes on upholstery in quick time. According to the company, the touch screens are also useful for the feedback they provide, enabling the company to support and anticipate the needs of its retail locations quickly and accurately. The company claims that the incorporation of touch screens, combined with the company’s other technologies opens market expansion possibilities worldwide. Ethan Allen chairman, president and CEO Farooq Kathwari said that Ethan Allen has been a design-focused brand for nearly 80 years. Most of their furniture is made to order and approximately 70% of it is made in the US. "We continually look for ways to enhance the client experience and now we’re putting the world of Ethan Allen at their fingertips on touch screens in our Design Centers. We are pleased to bring this new technology to participating Ethan Allen locations nationwide, and we invite everyone to come in to a Design Center and experience it themselves,” Kathwari added. At present, Ethan Allen owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities in North America, including five manufacturing plants and one sawmill in the US and one manufacturing plant in Mexico.
