Arvind Lifestyle Brands inks deal with French retailer Elle
Indian apparel maker Arvind Lifestyle Brands has entered into a licensing agreement with France-based fashion brand Elle to retail women's wear in the country.
Both the companies aim to tap the growing women's western wear segment. Arvind plans to open six exclusive Elle stores by April this year, reported The Hindu Business Line.
Initially, the firm will open outlets in Bangalore, Chandigarh and Delhi. The French fashion label will also be sold through Elle shop-in-shops. The retailer will sell lingerie, footwear and bags separately.
Arvind Lifestyle Brand managing director and chief executive J Suresh said the company would invest INR15 crore ($3.044m) in the first year to develop the brand.
The firm has other international brands such as Arrow, Izod, GANT and US Polo in its portfolio. Arvind runs a retail chain Megamart with 225 locations across the nation.
Lagardere Active Group owned Elle has presence in 80 countries worldwide.
